Terms
The terms for using this site and buying the paid full history check. Plain English; your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here.
Who we are. MOT Pass Rate is run by [DAN: legal name of the person or company, and trading name if different], [DAN: postal address]. Contact: [DAN: an email address that is read by a person].
The free check and the free MOT report
The MOT history comes from the DVSA and the vehicle details from DVLA records; the pass-rate comparisons are our own figures from the DVSA's published MOT results for 2022–2024. We show what those records say and do not check them against the car itself. The "worth asking the seller" notes are prompts from the record, not findings about the car. Use the information as one input when you buy a car, alongside an inspection.
The paid full history check — £8.99
- What you get: a PDF report emailed to you, built from our supplier's records for the registration you entered: written-off and category, outstanding finance, stolen marker, mileage anomalies, plate and colour changes, previous keepers and latest V5C date, and trade, retail and private values. Where the records hold no answer to a question, the report says "Not reported" rather than implying the car is clear.
- Price: £8.99, one payment, no subscription, taken by Square.
- Delivery: usually within a minute of payment, by email to the address you give. Check the registration and email address before you pay.
- If we cannot produce it we refund you in full automatically — see Refunds.
Your right to cancel
The report is digital content supplied straight away. By paying, you ask us to supply it immediately and acknowledge that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once it has been sent. [DAN: the checkout must capture this consent and acknowledgement before payment — a required tick box beside Pay — or the 14-day right stays open. Not built yet.]
Our responsibility
The report is only as accurate as the records it is built from. If it is wrong or incomplete because we got something wrong, tell us and we will put it right or refund you, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. We are not responsible for losses you could not reasonably have expected when you bought it, and we do not limit liability where the law does not allow us to. [DAN: decide whether to offer a data guarantee; none is offered here.]
Using the site fairly
Do not use automated tools to run lookups in bulk; the site limits how many checks one connection can make. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in your part of the UK.
